BOISE, Idaho – Three years ago, Janean Haber, Nampa, had a dream that one day she would win the Lottery one day.
“That day is today!” exclaimed Haber when she claimed the most recent jackpot prize of $417,100 from the Idaho Lottery’s Idaho Cash draw game.
“After my dream, I read articles about people who believed they were going to win, and they did. I thought I could be one of those people,” said Haber. “I kept believing, I played regularly, and here I am. The big winner!”
Haber claimed the second largest Idaho Cash jackpot in the game’s history. She said she tried to win the largest jackpot in the game’s history last fall. That jackpot was claimed by an out-of-state syndicate, Mudspell Pizza, LLC.
“I am glad the Idaho Lottery is supporting the legislation to stop bulk purchasing by those players from out-of-state that were here last fall,” added Haber referring to the pending legislation in the Idaho Statehouse, House Bill 504. “When they come in and play, average players like me have less of a chance to win. Idaho jackpots are for Idahoans! Let’s keep it that way!”

House Bill 504 is sponsored by Representative Joe Alfieri (R - District 4) and Senator Jim Guthrie (R – District 28). It passed the House of Representatives by a vote of 62 ayes, 6 nays, with 2 absent and excused. Currently, the bill awaits a final vote on the Senate floor.
Haber has modest plans for her winnings but did say she would be taking a trip to Las Vegas, but not for what one might think. “I’ve always wanted to go on a ghost adventure and that’s what I’m gonna do!”
Her winning ticket was sold at Winner’s Corner in Boise.
